Jesus In Cowboy Boots

2008.05.24
Yes, this statue of Jesus has cowboy boots. As Becky explained to us the artist that was commissioned to make this statue died before it was completed. The gentleman that took over did not know how to sculpt feet in sandals. . . so he opted for cowboy boots.

While our group was browsing the cemetery a man pulled up in his truck and told Becky that we needed to load up and leave immediately, a funeral procession was on the way.

This is the Sam Bell Maxey House. We were provided a tour of the house and the grounds. This weekend had a special display in the back with all types of military items.

The house and out buildings are going to get a several million dollar renovation over the next several years.

During a conversation later in the weekend Kristine told me that Dominick wants to be race car driver when he grows up. I think Dom would be happy driving anything, look at that grin!

Yep Dad, he needs one of these too!

Saturday lunch was at the Texas Belle. We though we were going to each lunch WITH the Red River Honkers, we didn't realize that they would be serving us. For good ole' car folks they did a great job and we all had a great time.

After lunch, standing around in the shade, the topic of leg room in a Speedster came up. Well Mitch just had to try it out. . . and agreed that it is very comfortable, if it was just painted orange instead of red!

After lunch we were on our own for the afternoon to shop, nap, whatever. At 4:00 the majority of the group gathered at Braum's for an ice cream social. . . yes, TWO HOURS before the dinner banquet!
