Lest We Forget is a phrase popularised in 1897, by Rudyard Kipling; it formed the refrain of his poem Recessional.
The Ode of Remembrance, recited at ANZAC Day and Remembrance Day services throughout the British Commonwealth, contains "Lest we forget" as its final line.
