Simon G, promo work

2006.11.29

i was up til 5 shooting this last night for a 9am deadline this morning.

:-)

A bunch of promo shots for Travis Jewelers' new ad campaign slated to begin in about two weeks. The shoot fell into my lap on sunday night when their original photog bailed, and i wasn't too happy to do it in the beginning because my digital body is out for cleaning, and i don't trust myself enough to be able to nail it on the first run with film.

so....i borrowed a 20d body and a sigma 1:1 50mm f/2.8 macro (it sounds better than it is, i promise!) from some friends and set to work on shooting it. above you have the final products and some behind the scenes stuff i took while i was shooting it. ask away if you wanna know anything!

the pieces are from a collection featuring colored diamonds by a designer known as Simon G.

Amethyst That is so cool. I've set up a macro make-shift-studio like that before, even had light diffusers (tracing paper) and reflectors (white posterboard) and pretty much the same think you got there. You're doin so much professional work! I'm so glad I've got your autograph for when you're famous!
