today was mighty cold. mighty. mighty.mighty cold.
it was inteh 60s yesterday, and now it's in the low 40s/upper 30s. I'm not used to a cold like this. apparently, it's a cold front that was passing through, and it's going to be cold like this for the rest of the week....i kind of wish it would snow.
........
so today the family and i went for a drive to see the towns that surround Bowling Green, and we ended up in Morgantown.
Morgantown has a baptist church, a really pretty courthouse, a high school, and uh, not...much...else. we seriously drove in, and about 5 minutes later passed through the town. I was kind of like being in teh movie Deliverance.
so we decided to go to Nashville, which is an hour south of Bowling Green, over the border to Tennessee. the drive was nice, and the people there are even nicer, but it is a big city. much, much bigger than fort myers, but sometimes that's a nice thing. despite it's size, i still felt safer there than i would in Miami or even Tampa...maybe it's a middle-america thing?
while walking around broadway, we came across a boot shop (in Nashville?! no way?!!) and decided to go in. that's where today's photos come from. the light in there was AMAZING. It was overhead fluorescents (bleh) with very warm colored halogen spotlights that gave everything a really dramatic look. good stuff.
there's so much to do in Nashville, it looks like that's the place i'll be heading to for any sort of nightlife. the distance really isn't that bad, it's no worse than going to Naples from home.
oh! an there's a White Castle in Bowling Green! how exciting is that? dad, mom, derek and myself ran there tonight for a snack tonight and even though those burgers are tiny, they hit you like a brick!
as usual, any questions, ask away.
