The first photo ran on page 16 (craaap) in today's alligator.

fun fact about that particular shot (number 1) is that i hid another photographer behind the man that's out of focus in the foreground. it's always fun when there's another photog out from another paper and you're competing for a shot to try and hide the other guy/girl so it looks like you were the only one there

the other photos were ones from my take that caught my eye.

also, i realize the third photo is out of focus on Mel Martinez's face but i included it because i like how it shows how "in your face" all the media can be sometimes and how i'm really glad i'm on this side of the camera...i dunno if i could take so many lenses pointed at me at once.

In other news, bleached my whites while doing laundry tonight and it's pretty much the most amazing thing that's ever happened in my life. seriously.

Amethyst Why did the FIRST photo make the paper? The other ones are better. Although, maybe not as much from a journalistic view as from an artistic view. You know, I didn't much like these at first because I thought the main subjects (the people) took up too little of the frame, with too much distracting details in the empty space. But once I start *really* looking, I must say I'm fascinated, especially by #2. Now that I interpret the atmosphere of the room as having a larger role in the photo, the details on the ceiling and desk make this a very effective and interesting image. The lines leading to the center handshake are brilliant -- did you do that intentionally? Good timing too, by the way.

Long comment already, but I have to say I like #3 as well, quite a lot. Doesn't matter that the focus isn't on the guys face. Still really cool.
