the end of the world

i went down to this little barrier island that i used to call "the end of the world" tonight. back when i was in high school i used to go out there all the time to just chill and get away from everything when i was stressed or what not.

i've been meaning to go out there since i got back from my first semester in kentucky, but i haven't had much time whenever i go home so it always gets bumped off the list.

i made time for it this weekend, even if i did get out there at 3:30 in the morning.

it's the end of the world because it's the last island before you get to lovers key, and that goes into the county below mine. from this place you can see the milky way above and the lights of naples seem to "float" on the surface of the gulf...like a place you can see but never reach.

it's great. so great.

seeing naples from here is why i used to call it 'the city across the sea'
