so we all know times are rough across the board financially, so everyone has to do what they can to stay above water and try and save some money.
lately i've been doing custom restoration work on the side for a decent amount an hour and it's been helping me save up a little nest egg and pay off my credit card faster than my meager hourly wage alone.
so here we've got three photos showing the photo as scanned, in edit and at about 80% complete. i've still got to clean up some of the stains, and rebuild the more detailed parts that have been damaged and a final BW conversion and overall toning.
i like to save the hardest for last and build up to it.

the story here is that this gentleman came in and wanted to get this restored asap. this photo was taken in august of '45 right after World War II ended and was the end of his three year (!) tour of duty as a corpsman (medic) in the marines.
He enlisted. He survived almost the entire Pacific War. This is the only photo of him from that period of his life, and i've got to restore it.
crazy.

by the way listen to Orfeu Negro on youtube, it's good.
