The Flood: at The Arc

2008.06.26

I go to The Arc for my friends club. [It is called] Choice. It was a flood. [I was] not there. No one there. Evacuated. Safe.

The Arc.

The door I go in. Sandbags try to stop water go in.

Water [was] too tall [deep].

River water dirty. Muddy. In my chair.

The games got wet. Got dirty. Not safe.

Flood water smells bad. Garbage in water. Gas in water. Not safe.

Throw away. Sad.

We will take a picture of the new place I go to for Choice. It is on a big hill. No flood. It is at a school called Regis.

We are still processing the impact of the flood. Though we have not had to endure the devastation that many have.......... it still is impacting our lives in a lot of ways. These pictures have been a helpful way for Nevin to understand what has happened and to understand the changes that are necessary. They obviously are not pictures that we have taken....... rather are captures of picts on websites of our "favorite places". :(

Mom: I'm sorry that your club building was flooded. I hope you are having fun at your new place. This is a sad time.

It's hard to believe how much is now trash. Just amazing...

Taking pictures and writing about what happened is a good way to help us understand things that are hard. Nevin, you did a good job explaining about the flood.
