Higher up, in a nest at the top of a broken off sycamore tree, a whiskered screech owl comes out to see what the disturbance is. It's just me taking a photo.

I am jealous of your owl sightings! You've captured them so personally in your photos. I love this part of Arizona. I spent some time in Bisbee, south of Tuscon in Cochise County, and sometimes imagined living out there. For a girl who loves the sea, the desert has a similar power, vastness, and tranquility.
Excellent birds set. #3 looks unbelievable, like cartoon creature :) Winking owl is really hilarious. I undestand well also #7 - I have hundreds shots of fast birds divided by picture frame ;)
