The Frogs of Rock Oaks

2012.03.02
pixel
While I am circling the pond and photographing the frogs, this frog stays on the edge overlooking the pond as if he has been given the task of "watch-frog". He ends up being the most photographed frog because he is photogenic from all angles.
pixel
In the pond are lots of lilly pads to hold on to and lots of frogs croaking.
pixel
Keeping one foot on the vegetation keeps a frog from floating away.
pixel
This frog wants me to show you his surroundings. He lives in a perfect frog pond.
pixel
"Watch frog" never takes an eye off of me. That's easy because he can see 360 degrees.
pixel
This frog thinks he is hiding because of the big leaves around him, but I still have a good view of him.
pixel
Off in the reeds there is a lot of scuffling around and positioning. This is the final result of their efforts.
pixel
A very diligent "watch frog"!
pixel
And very intense.
pixel
He tries to keep an eye on everyone in the pond, but it's difficult with all the vegetation.
pixel
pixel
What an amazing design! He hardly looks real.
pixel
This frog stays hidden in the reeds until a splash of sunlight hits his face.
pixel
Another frog doing what frogs do...
pixel
Things are going well for this frog. Can you see his subtle grin?
pixel
Interesting how different each of these frogs looks. I think you could even tell them apart.
pixel
I showed a property for sale called "Rock Oaks" in Philadelphia on over an acre and was delighted to find a frog pond in the side yard. I went back later to photograph the frogs.

Sharon Gunther Love this, it really shows frog attitude! I especially like the one where there is shallow depth of field, and the frog is the only thing sharp. Great to know you are having fun!!
