Cape May is a New Jersey Victorian shore town renowned for its birding opportunities. Located at the southern end of the state, it is on the flyway for migrating birds.
On a whim, I drove to Cape May from Philadelphia (100 miles), but was detoured by traffic jams so I arrived just before sunset. My birding wasn't great, but the sunset at the lighthouse was outstanding.
