Mount Lassen resides in Lassen Volcanic National Park. It's last eruption was in 1915 when it blew the cap out leaving what you see today. Imagine a huge peak protruding skyward between the peak on the left and the ragged remnants on the right.

We drove off road for quite a long ways along a cinder road, and the reward was some incredible views of Lassen

Turning to the west, from the same cinder road as above, is Mt Shasta
|
We caught this view about 15 minutes before the clouds moved in obscuring it completely. Mt Shasta has some mystical powers, according to Indian lore, and some local fanatics!
