Have you ever wondered why we use the word “macro” to mean close up photography? “Macro” means big, it is actually “micro” that means small. Looking at the proper definitions it would seem that “micro” would be a be better word. But if we did that, there’d be no word for this very small scale photography. Don’t have nightmares!
