199. Memorial To Broken Dolls Day
The Japanese celebrate the 3rd of June as "Memorial To Broken Dolls Day". Children can take their broken dolls or other significant toys to a Buddhist shrine where they can receive funeral rites; the dolls that is, not the children. That would be cruel.
I'm not sure what a Buddhist priest with a pacifist outlook would make of an action man but, ho-hum, I wasn't going to post a picture of a Barbie doll (If I had one).
