238. Blood On His Hands

It is now one month since the presidential election in Iran. Still Ahmadinejad holds presidential power. Not because that is the will of the Iranian people, but because brute force has been used to stop them from protesting. At least 20 people have been killed, many other protesters have been attacked and injured and at least 500 people are still in jail.

So to Ahmadinejad I send a yellow lily. The lily is a symbol of peace and that is what I wish for the Iranian people. It is also a symbol of death, so it should act as a reminder of the 20 or more people who have lost their lives in trying to get justice. The colour yellow is also symbolic, because it is the colour of cowardice: his cowardice. Cowardice to accept the real decision of the Iranian people, cowardice to even re-run the election, cowardice to let the people protest without setting gangs of bully boys on them. Yes there is blood on his hands.
