We are just 10 days off of Ruth and Ricky's idea, My Best Photo. I have a problem with this in that I don't know what my best photo is. I've been trawling through my blog to see what I like and I've also been looking at the ones other people have picked as favourites. As I suspected there's little common ground. The one's I like are the more challenging ones with darker subject matters, ones that aren't necessarily pretty. The one's that other people seem to like are altogether 'nicer'. There really does seem to be a mismatch, to the point that I wonder why people visit.

Anyway, I thought that the best thing to do would be to let people vote. If you have an idea of what's best please send me a brief message stating the date and picture number. Feel free to pick any picture; it doesn't have to be listed here. The one I will go with will be the one with the most votes.

I agree, I am having a hard time deciding. I believe my best shot is hopefully the next one I take. I do love "Spirit" the color reflections are cool! I 'feel your pain'! But I know this from posting too... I can pretty well predict what photos other people will like best. And you're right, it's frequently not my favorite. I wish I could help, but not by choosing MY favorite of your photos from the lists. Oh Jon, don't listen to other people, listen to your own instinct. It's about "Y-o-u-r BEST Photo"...not "Your Prettiest Picture people like". Choose a pic which you think is good for many reasons, one that resonates with you the most. Something almost symbolic for your 2010. Something maybe with a special meaning. Something representative, not necessarily attractive. Something that maybe you will pick for the cover if you would make a book out of all your 2010 photos. Don't forget, the purpose is to disclose your personal preference, not to try to please people ;) I understand that it's difficult to choose as you have tons of good pictures (in my opinion) but I am interested to see the photo you like the most, not the one other people would choose. And only you could decide about the criteria you will apply. Strangely enough - as a parallel to what DancingDolphin said about her pick (..."one that I like a lot but not really my absolute favorite")....I will choose from my pictures the one that I favorite but don't consider the best one (or what other people would think is the best). ....Sorry for sounding so patronizing but the effort was so worth it ...Glad I could help ...not ;) ! Well, I'll be different. I looked at them all, and like the Romance one the best. A lot went into it, without it being macabre..... I have noticed BTW that very often other people fav the ones I almost didn't post, because I felt they weren't good enough!
