Jon, my condolences on the problem! Yikes! Looks like an easy repair to the plumbing however. The ceiling - that's another matter I fear! Good documentation of the discovery, Jon. Hope you will do the same for the repair!!

You are lucky to have drywall for the ceiling... it would be much more lenghty and messy with brick and mortar...but I hear you, who needs this in the middle of the holidays, or ever, for that matter...

Oh Jeez... I had something similar happen years ago, but in was through the bottom [under the kitchen tile...] This seems a lot worse though... Good luck...

I thought at first that you were talking about your nose ...go figure, I couldn't see any relation to the kitchen ceiling ...but I was still thinking of the flu ... Didn't he get at all suspicious about your taking pictures of him hacking at the entire ceiling for just a little hole in the pipe ??? ;)
