Thing One with a hat in the shape of a cat,
Thing Two with a cat that was worn like a hat,
With the rat on the mat, all waited and sat.
Thing Three had the book: it was opened, not flat.
Thing Three had the book, right there in his lap,
it wasn't an atlas, it wasn't a map.
It was a story of an old friend so dear,
A story of fun, of laughter and cheer.
The book was about the Cat in the Hat,
so they sat all excited in cat-hats like that.
Things with hats and rats on mats all love the story of Cat in the Hat.
Thing Three read the tale of a place on the net
where people who like photography met.
Some posted cats, some sun-sets,
some shoot fast cars and others fast jets.
Silhouettes, vignettes , tv sets and crepe suzettes.
Was nothing beyond this internet set?
Tuesdays and Scale. Caturdays and ale.
Post more fresh pictures, no time to get stale.
Then one day a man posted pics of a hat,
all his friends said, "oh I do so like that".
So he said to them all, "I will send it to you…
when it lands on your doormat you'll know what to do"
Take a shot of yourself in the hat like a cat,
in your house, or your work or the cave of a bat.
In no time at all put your pic on your blog,
and if you like, put the hat on your dog.
Make sure it's clear, with no signs of fog
hop to it now, like a toad or a frog.
So it went round the world this hat like a cat,
and it sat on the heads of the thin and the fat.
It was jolly good fun, now the hat's in Southend,
but surely that's not where this hat game should end.
To anyone who wants to carry on the trend
go to CatHatTour and ask to be friends
then I'll send on the hat so some time you can spend
wearing the hat that is setting a trend.
(with apologies to Dr Seuss)
Thanks very much to Jenny, Dan, Felecia and Gregg for making this happen. Great fun.
I'm not sure who wants to be next, please let me know.
