Entomologists Wanted

If anyone can help to identify what this fly is, I'd love to know. The nearest I can come up with is The Stable Fly, Stomoxys calcitrans. I am doubtful though because the eyes on this one look a bit too large and they don't have a concave appearance at the side.

For the record, the picture is actually upside down. Somehow it just looked better this way.

Annbramwell Sorry Jon, cant help with identifying it, but you are right the stable fly has a more bean shaped eye,could it be a house fly, they have rounder eyes and longer hairs...? but what an amazing photo, the detail is incredible!
