This little spider, I think it's a Spitting Spider, Scytodes thoracica but as ever I could well be wrong, was disturbed by Lin who was doing the dusting.

Lin (who has always been scared of spiders) had called for me to come and help and was holding the tiny spid and its egg sack on a bit of toilet paper. She said that she felt really guilty for disturbing it. We put it on the window sill near Ben's cactus collection and watched intently as the little mummy spider set about making a new home for her eggs. She was absolutely tireless.

There's now a little nest under the lip of one of the flower pots. It's been too dark to photograph, but hopefully we'll see the sun one day this year and will maybe then have sufficient light for a shot of its new home.

DancingDolphin Hmmm... couldn't the cactus survive OUTSIDE so those dozens of little spiders don't end up in your house!!?? 8^)

lookagain Beautiful shots and not nearly as creepy as some spider shots I've seen.....someplace ;))
What a lovely story even though the name "spitting spider" is a bit odd. I'm glad you relocated her, she has much to attend to!
Nature is amazing.....

Annbramwell What nice people you both are, most folk would have though nothing of sucking her and her egg sack up into the hoover... I am glad that she has settled into her new home with all her potential babies...
