|
Visit any amusement arcade from Las Vegas to Sunny Sarfend and it's almost certain that you'll see exactly the same sorts of machines. Boring machines that you've seen many times before: The obligatory spinning fruits with various hold and nudge functions dressed up in the design of the latest Hollywood blockbuster; penny falls where you drop in a coin, hoping that by some seismological miracle a lot more will fall out; grab machines where you spend more trying to win a stuffed toy than you could have bought it for, and so on and so on... Not if you visit Southwold pier though. Here the amusements are original, unique and most importantly of all, amusing. For here, all of the amusements are designed and built by one man; a genius who likes to do things that are different, quirky and fun.
If ever you get the chance to visit Southwold Pier, do so. You'll not regret it.

Haha ... I knew you were down the pier! As a kid our family walked down every Boxing Day after dinner!! BTW... I was a chiropodist! :-))

Very interesting and fun filled post! What IS a chiropodist? Do they still exist? I remember my grandmother always going there...

What fun.. not sure I would trust my feet with that particular chiropidist, she looks quite fearsome... it is good to see an arcade with a sense of humour!

A much needed laugh, especially with "autofrisk." Went through airport security a few days ago and it looks eerily similar.
