You would think it would be odd that there would be a painting of Lincoln hanging in a southern plantation. The plantation and most of the New Orleans area was occupied by the Union during the Civil War; The Emancipation Proclamation did not apply to the area, because it was under Union control.

Sunday we ventured out to the Destrehan Plantation. Then came back to New Orleans and went to the Aquarium.
I want to go back to New Orleans, it is an amazing city, totally unique in country. It's good traits make up for it's bad ones.
