And it was a pretty one.
Closing the day, and summing up a year, huh.
Today, I discovered Downton Abbey and then watched Man of la Mancha with my mom.
But mostly this day has been blogged out, trying to tie up the year with a pretty little bow. This is the place where I attempt to do that.
It seems appropriate to look at this year in numbers. This year has seen me through:
4,571 Photos (that I've kept)
357/366 Blog entries (a 97.5% success rate)
18+ Major Performances
15+ Train Rides
13 Mitbewohner (people with whom I've shared home)
9 Classes
8 Different Countries
7 Dance Workshops/Classes
6 Profile Pictures on Facebook
5 Flights
4 Places to Call Home
3 Dates
2 Languages
1 Panic Attack
And 366 days of 2012, filled with friends, workshops, ice cream, watching performance, watching movies, biking, baked goods, swimming, cooking, struggles, snuggles, growth, pictures, picnics, learning, and love. So much love.
And did I mention ice cream? I just ate a bowl before writing this.
The pages of this blog are a testament to the fact that I'm pretty damn lucky to have taken on this much in a year and lived to tell the tale. There are a billion thanks to be said to all of you who have followed, supported, and shared it all.
Luckily, I don't have to do too much, because I have a year-long archive of it. Of course, this blog doesn't even begin to scratch the surface, but it's a start.
Right about now, people are embracing and shouting "Happy New Year!" or wishing each other "Einen guten Rutsch!"
Here the New Year came and passed with a hoarse shout from me on the couch, and not much more fanfare than that.
But before I do that here (and I do so look forward to 2013), I'd like to say happy 2012. It was a good one.
