I feel at home here. During the day, there are still lots of men with hats standing around chatting. Some Italian and Portuguese grocery stores have closed to make way for restaurants and bars, but Il Centro Del Formaggio and others continue.

I live in a mix of old and new, of generations, of cultures and of styles. There are lots of unique independent stores and businesses. There are artisans and designers, a hat maker, dress makers, jewelry makers, a used bookstore that specializes in art books, the best music store in the city (and the only place I buy music ever) and lots and lots of restaurants.

This is as close as I have ever come to knowing what it would be like to live in a small town. I've lived and worked in this area for most of the last 15 years, and I will probably swim around here for at least another 15.
