She let me take my time, and lots of pictures, until the sound of the camera was comfortable and forgettable.

It's like Odysseus holding on to Poseidon while he changes form, and waiting, waiting until he becomes himself again.

But that description. Yes. And that technique is one I've found VERY effective myself. Just snap snap snap. The shutter sound fades, the camera fades, you fade, except as a space for your subject to open into. Yes.
