rolling rice and red pepper in a strip of cucumber for &#39sushi&#39

If you&#39re listening, touch your nose!

Tastes even better when you made it yourself.

She is awestruck by his amazing spaghetti twirling skills

proud

The cooking class produced (and ate) a three course meal: a 'sushi' roll up of rice, red pepper and cucumber, spaghetti, and a fruit and raisin caterpillar for dessert.

monkeyface the "spaghetti" and the "proud" pics are my faves. I could look at those two pics over and over again.

Truly a lovely set.

allcopacetic I think I like that last shot best, too, although 'proud' and the twirling shots are close contenders.

Julia, I know you like to shoot only with natural light, but I think a couple of these might have benefited from some fill light on the weak side -- not a lot, just enough to give some definition. I'm guessing it was an overcast day and most of the light came from windows on one side of the classroom?

JuliaGotz Fill light would have improved things. Flash was out of the question. The kids were easily distracted. But as you say, the lighting in this situation wasn't ideal. If I was going to take pictures of the cooking group again, I would set up some lights in advance. I had a brief time to take pictures (and wipe hands and faces along the way). I don't know if I'll have to buy some lighting equipment, or just be a little more controlling on the scene. I like the challenge of working with what's available.

Fasterbit No, light is p e r f e c t ! No flash indoor...
