Birdwatching Part 2: flora and fauna

2007.04.22
We stopped here to watch a redtailed hawk swoop over the field

Caspian Tern

at the roadside - Coltsfoot

almost missed this pretty bug on the Teasel

"Mockingbird shmockingbird. Stay off my property!"

in the woods: Bloodroot flower

Hepatica

spooning

Turkey Vulture. Common, but still magnificent in the air.

My 50mm prime lens is not suitable for photographing birds, so I focused more on plants.

I apologise to these delicate forest flowers for taking their pictures when the sun was so strong. They really ought to be photographed in the early morning.

Thank you, Sheldon, for your help naming these plants.

The next entry will be 'the newbies' - the people I went with.
