Great, great set. Love nr 7. Do you used flash? Idea; next time you shot running dogs, set the exposure time on 1/30 or 1/15 and follow the dogs with camera... can be very cool :-)

I'm going to try that, Ottosson. I didn't use flash. Maybe I'll try that next time. But dogs don't like flash, and then they get camera shy. The light got much brighter at the end, and finally I got some crisper shots. Early morning light is beautiful, but it was overcast, and it's hard to catch fast action in low light.

I grew up with Poodles, yappy one's at that, and they were very much my mom's dogs.... I have many reasons why not to get a dog! Nice shots - I prefer the colour one's - I'd love to see what 'What you say' and 'Gonna be...' would look like in colour per 'new kid' - any reason why you desaturated or did you shoot with b&w setting?

krx, no matter if I shoot colour or b&w, I'm working on looking in terms of light and contrast. Dropping out the colour when I look at the pictures gives me more information on how I'm doing with my awareness of light. Standard poodles seem pretty different from the miniatures or toys - more like the even tempered hunting dogs they started out as. Was it standard poodles that you knew to be yappy?

we had regular poodles, the little ones! colour or b&w they're great shots - 'new one' has such nice colour, the snippets of brown is what gets lost somewhat in the b&w (melds with background)... the three colours in the dog work really well with the grass (just my thoughts)

Yes, I see how the puppy's markings are better in colour. Thanks to you all for your great comments, and especially for constructive criticism and suggestions.

Number 8 is so amazing. The exposure is dead on and the expression on the puppy's face if wonderful.

Wow - what a lively set - so exciting. #8 - that dog is just delightful and your picture/caption are just perfect. Reminds me of going for a portrait and the photographer positioning your body parts - did you twist the dog to that posture?
