A famous photographer (I forget who) once said that there are only two times a day when it is worth taking photos: early morning and late afternoon. I don't think your photos are mistakes at all but I will bet you will get better. You have the eye.

Mr. Muscles guy needs a serious wax job! I like the "ok enough" one best! That dog has expressive eyes.

that last one is a heck of a 'mistake'... maybe it is the mid day self evaluation where you are too hard on yourself that is the consequence of these unfamiliar early mornings... the way i see it, everytime you press the shutter you are one picture better than the last one - learning by doing, meassure not the outcome but the effort

i love the black and white chi one. i'm also a big fan of the dog ones as always. my favourite shot of the bunch is the black and white of the construction workers...number 10...with the shovel and the guy looking back. i like the light on the truck, the sweat on his face, and the grime that the black and white enhances. i really feel that one...you've caught something real there.

There are no mistakes—only another way of looking at something. I love the expression on the woman's face. Great captures.

I think that you are WAY too hard on yourself! Maybe it's just feeling a little unfamiliar..... I would be happy if I had taken any of those shots!
