* this isn't really about the person in the picture (though I do think she's an S.I.S. (sister in sensitivity)) as much as it is about my quarrel with the high-speed, high-energy sensation seekers in my life

** a friend of mine recently teased "you're a delicate flower, Julia. " I demanded she say it again without the sarcasm. I am a delicate flower - I'm saying it proud.

*** people more sensitive than myself are, of course, irritating and unreasonable.
