after all these years

Even in very tough situations, she holds herself with beautiful poise. We worked together for a long time many years ago in a school for children with special needs. When I left, we gradually lost touch.

I'm going to the Bahamas on Sunday. That's where Selina grew up. Every time I read names of places, I would hear her voice, and think of her, so I called her and we got together.

She continued to grow in her career, developing unique programs for children and adults with special needs. Now she's running a music program that sounds like the most incredible project. I expect that I will be taking photos there in the coming weeks, so I can share more about it here.

She pointed out some places on the bahamas map for me. I chose to go to Eleuthera on this trip because I remembered her telling a child about it at least 15 years ago. I wasn't really looking at the map while she talked. I was thinking how lucky I am to be sitting in her presence, and hearing her warm and musical voice.
