This is what the karma yoga students do on a break from painting - show each other ways of getting into various poses.

Mopping and sweeping are part of the spiritual life - especially cleaning the temple.
|
a quiet spot to read by one of the many fountains.
|
Palm trees everywhere present a danger - falling coconuts. You need experts to get those down. They are here now, roping off parts of the ashram with 'caution' tapes, and cutting down all the coconuts. All afternoon, we year the sound of the coconuts crashing to the ground.

All over the ashram, paintings of deities.

at 4 pm, the second 2 hour yoga class of the day begins.

I end up photographing headstand because it is the only time in the class where everyone is working individually. I can't take pictures at any other time.

Wow - this sounds like quite a program! I like the headstands - such a different way than I learned (i.e. non yoga). The one with the girl on her forearms and bent over backwards - that looks challenging but so interesting!
