Zebra plant on her windowsill - makes me think of life in the sea

Sensitive little creature, Matilda, whom she loves most tenderly

in the final moments before I left

I don't know Karen very well at all. We're both regulars in the same yoga class, but we rarely speak. She holds reserve about her like a scalloped shell, and only opens her smile towards those she chooses. Even so, I found myself drawn to her expressive, delicate face, and I wanted to see if I could convey something about her in a photograph. Karen is a poet, a professor of literature, and the editor of Descant magazine.

Karen does not enjoy being photographed. Her work does require pictures from time to time, and so I had the opportunity to spend a while in her singular, elegant home searching for light on a terribly grey afternoon.

Thank you, Karen, for the opportunity. Today I purchased three small Zebra plants like the ones I saw at your home.

allcopacetic The shot with the scarf is a nice, expressive capture.

bacco66 Even if your speciality appears to be the portrait, this time I prefer to concentrate my commentary on something else. Forgive me... Technically I like a lot #1(overexposed background light makes it special!) and #3 (excellent depth of field choice!!). Bravo!
