Playback Theatre - stories of endings and beginnings

2008.03.02
afraid of what he might see

two actors portray a single person's mixed experience

"great to see you"/you make me sick

time is ticking on that RRSP deadline

it's a small nest egg

quitting smoking - short vignettes warm up the audience

when a longer story is told, the teller chooses an actor to play herself.

Lisa's improvised playing and singing brings out the heart of the stories.

A story of leaving her homeland, and discovering that the new country has become home.

a story that ends with a wedding - a GREEK wedding

death waits

cancer in remission - living on the edge of the cliff

hey look - two seats. where were you?

Brian's last night at the Ralph Thornton Centre. He's been here with Toronto Playback Theatre since it began 5 years ago.

The conductor of the theatre holds a conversation with the audience, and brings out stories that need to be told. Without discussion or rehearsal of any kind, creative and talented actors enact the experiences and stories that have been shared. They are right on the edge of the unknown, and they find their way, time after time.

The next regular performance of toronto playback theatre will be Saturday, April 5, 2008, Stories of Creatures Great and Small. There will also be a performance following a play on March 19. See the playback website for all the details.

as for me, I've posted a lot in the past few days, and will probably have to take a break for other efforts this week, so please go back and take a look at the dance photos from earlier this week.

????? Very good set, with wondeful faces and emotions. Do you wanted it to be so noisy, or the lights where not so good?
