the visit part two: Gabrielle

2008.03.17

I had already put the camera away - enough pictures. We were just hanging out, without the interference of 'the big black eye'. I looked over from where I was standing at the kitchen sink, and her beauty - I could not resist interrupting to get my camera once more.

Gabrielle holding Elska, caring for her while continuing to be so truly herself - this is wonderful. The generosity of motherhood is astounding, almost incomprehensible. And then, to maintain a sense of self - what a delicate balance that must be. Gabrielle is honest, funny, devoted and vulnerable. She's so relaxed with her baby, confident and tender.

LostAspen I love her hair cut! Did she do it herself? I'd like to do something like that... I think 3 and 5 are my favorites. :-)

Zedsdead A lovely set of photos, and interesting to see from those who have mentioned it, which images were preferred. i understand why, but for me #9 is straight out of the Icon makers handbook, and also posessed of the most wonderful colour and tone that brings the subjects out from the frame, and very much alive. ?:o)

Richard Apparently babies aren't supposed to be able to smile until at least three months, but if Gabrielle isn't smiling in #2, then I don't know what a smile is.
