This used to be "picture #4", that everyone preferred. I changed this from a black and white version to colour on Last Frontier's suggestion, and I agree, the shot does work better in colour.

The delicious Jon-Paul is back... #8 and 9 for me (I really like #7 too though!). You are lucky to have such a willing model!

For me 11 and 13 caught my eye as "headshots" though I do like the fun in 9

You want me to peer closely at Jon-Paul for a long time in order to give you an opinion? Such a hardship. Clearly, flashing the woman walking the dog in #9 is my all-time favorite; the grin seems genuine and oh, so appealling, and his chest...well, I must remember my husband. Julia, I think the feedback breaks into two areas; those best for Jon-Paul's portfolio, and those that show off your portrait skill. Perhaps not? I have my iPhone open, so that i can see pixels an inch away from my nose (such clarity, that iPhone, and true colors), and laptop. Now, remember, I know nothing. However, I love #2 and #7 for the casual nature, light on his remarkable. hands in #2 (and those hands in #9). I prefer color for the opportunity to see those expressive brown eyes, and smiles, but that doesn't help you. But who wouldn't delight in seeing a handsome man standing in tall grass, as in #8? There the lighting on the tall grass and subject is superb, but I think Jon-Paul looks diminished, somehow. Shorter. In the last image you've captured his eyes and features well, with no shine or reflection on the forehead. But I keep returning to that true grin and spirit in #9. Sans woman. Phew. Must take a break to return to reality. I'm sorry I can't narrow it down to two images. Perhaps if you specified by asking those more detailed questions you posted in the forum. Thanks for this wonderful opportunity. I hope others will give you a more professional opinion. -Jan

Interesting and strong portraits. In some shots he reminds me the soccer star Luis Figo (who has an impressive latin face in my opinion...)

Great set Julia - I would say the strongest are #4, 6 and 14, but not sure if these are the best - also like #8 and 13!

I know that's not helpful in terms of headshots and portraits. I'm sorry, I don't feel equipped with the proper knowledge to add value. I think they're all fabulous..

I like 12 .. that is just so unique and shows different features or facets of his features you don't see in the others .. and 4 I think is so strong.. I feel like he is looking right into me and that you captured so much of his soul in that shot .. his eyes are like chocolate by the way ...!!! 4 just feels like he is standing right there and you can see different layers of him shining thru that look and his eyes.. confident yet vunerable .. sexy yet humble .. a perfect combination ..
