inspiration

Dancers and teachers David Leventhal and John Heginbotham were visiting Toronto with the Mark Morris Dance Company. They are here for the Luminato festival of art and culture. The company is performing several works throughout the festival.

While here, they led this dance workshop for people with Parkinson's Disease. I have posted many times about Sarah's dance classes for people with PD. Sarah's work was inspired by work that the Mark Morris group began in New York.

With David and John leading the workshop, Sarah was free to participate and have some fun with her son.

the more I watch these teachers and these students, the more I want to dance. not dance as performance. dance as a way of knowing/finding/expanding.
