Meeting Maria

2009.03.18
Some quick shots in a coffee shop meeting with Maria Wasström, a journalist from Finland. Maria is currently located in Toronto. She wrote an article on multiculturalism in Toronto for a newspaper in Finland, and used one of my photos.

I was lucky to meet these very friendly skaters, several of them on the ice for the very first time, at City Hall. The light was very flat that day, but these brave new skaters brightened the scene. Maria informed me that Toronto's City Hall was designed by a Finnish architect, Viljo Revell.

lyency a conversation at starbucks is always worth it :/) i would not worry about the flat light in this case. faces are ok, the clumsy movements on the image speak quite well, and the arch in the background nicely repeats the line of the skaters. all together it is a pleasing newspaper photograph.
