I started taking pictures in December 2006, and that's when I started this blog. It is typical of me to get very excited about a new activity. After a couple of weeks of pictures with a friend's point and shoot camera, I went and bought myself a canon rebel xti. I've gone through times when I've wanted to take pictures every day and also some months of hardly shooting at all. I'm getting more focused and particular in my interests now. There are a lot of situations now where I leave my lens cap on instead of taking every shot that occurs to me. but when the situation/light/subject is right, I feel tremendous excitement.

I use a 50mm f1.4 prime lens for almost everything. I love the low-light capability. I would recommend the 50 mm 1.4 to anyone who likes to take pictures of people in available light.

Most of my pictures are taken within a few blocks of where I live and work in Toronto. I'm interested in people - the physical expression of inner experience.

I welcome critical feedback.

and is the food *good*? I'm guessing YES.
well, if you like crab meat, cracking whole crabs that have been drowned in hot chili sauce, you might like it more than me! ;-)

awwww! nice set.
I guess your doggie took the last shot?
Took a few tries but I was able to get us more or less centered in the picture, a square crop finished it off nicely. A cutie, isn't she? ;)

that expression is so funny. Deer caption: "Hope darling, what HAVE you done to your hair? I didn't recognise you!"
Ha! So true! Definitely looked like he was giving me a second glance!

that second picture is AMAZING. except, instead of 'HOPEPICS', it should say 'ABANDONALLHOPEPICS'.
Thanks for all your comments! You're hilarious!
