Old Salem Burying Ground is the oldest cemetery in Salem, Massachusetts. It is the second oldest cemetery in the United States, started in 1637.

Many victims of the Salem Witch Trials are buried in unmarked graves within this cemetery.

I heard a nasty rumor that dispite the rumors no one was ever burned to death at the stake because of the trials; my favorite shot is #4- I like way the branch gives the headstones a natural framing and also the contrast seems deeper in that shot- maybe because of the sun?
