There has been a LOT of talk about this year's beer mile, to be held at Mike's 50th birthday party this year. Essentially you run a mile but drink a beer every quarter mile, so by the end of the event you've drank 4 beers and (in theory) run a mile.

The contenders took off as the sound of 20 beers cracked open simultaneously, chugged, then sprinted off. I knew immediately I was not in it to win it, but others figured that out later on after beer 2, spewing, or both.

This year Austin took first place completing the course in 7:55, while Ashley was the first female and second overall in 8:23 or so, barely missing her time from last year. True to form, I finished in 17:07 after having a long talk with myself about drinking that last beer.

After homemade awards we excitedly dashed up and down the big kahuna water slide, ate some pot luck style grub, and kicked back with anything but your beer of choice.
