Took mama to the doctor this afternoon for a wellness exam and all her vitals looked good. I had to take Nikka with me and she was confused with what was happening. She was happy at first but as soon as we went inside the exam room, she started getting upset and teary eyed. She looked around intently and concentrated on every word the doctor said. She remembers office visits and painful shots very well so she was trying to figure out if this was one of those visits. She didn’t cry and was very brave throughout the whole experience which amazes me. She did have a stern look on her face the whole time much like the picture above (less the little smile).

She would not let go of me so I had to carry her around. She would point at things and name them like “pictures, pooh bear (on a nurse’s shirt), baby, frog”. At one point, a male doctor said “hi” to her and she said “hi” back with a Miss America wave. When he said “bye” as he was walking away, Nikka said, “see ya!” and blew him a kiss. The doctor laughed his ass off.

I couldn’t help but smile big. I’m so proud of my baby girl. She is not at all shy like her Mommy and so much more braver too!
