to Stockholm, Sweden! :) haha we decided to go since the plane tickets were pretty cheap! Ryanair is the cheap, no frills airline - it was so funny! We had to climb stairs to board the plane, there was no water or food unless you paid for it, the seats were closer to fit more people, the seats didn't recline, and the lights turned off for lift off and landings. I had seriously just sat down when the steward(s) were coming down the aisle closing the overhead compartments. And 2 minutes later, we were moving! Usually when a plane goes around the corner to the main stretch to start speeding up and lift off, it goes gradually faster, but as soon as this plane turned all the way, it went off! It is crazy! The 2nd picture is the bus company we took in Sweden. The 3rd is Chelsea, one of my flatmates, eating the free ice and playing with the nifty shoe polisher. We had some issues with expedia.com and the booking for our rooms, so when we found out the internet was free, I dropped to my knees! haha - we were definitely high on life that night! The picture after me is of Navid, the receptionist who gave us free drinks, rolls with cheese, and apple pie!!
The rest of the pics are around Stockholm. They didn't turn out as good as I'd hoped and are dark, but I'll post more tomorrow.
So we had to take a train to the airport, then flew, then a bus from the airport to the city, then a taxi. The next day, we had to take a bus and the subway to the city and back - lots of different ways of traveling! On the way from the airport to Stockholm, we drove through these tunnels that were so cool - they looked carved out of the rock with cement ceilings and had exit ramps, but the way the lights were and the way it kept curving made it look like we were in a video game! It was so neat! The subway is really clean and smooth! I like it too... public transportation is a much bigger thing here in Europe.
The buildings were so cute and colorful! It is a very pretty city! And the people are so nice! On our first bus ride to the city, the bus driver spoke Swedish first, which was weird b/c we're used to hearing English first, and then in English said, "OK girls, get off here." haha! :)
