Nights of Fire

2008.01.26
Some of the first pots lit during the evening!...

One of the spheres burning on the edge of Nathan Philips square close to Queen St.

A fountain in the P.A.T.H on our walk down towards the Esplanade for dinner...

This was a mural on the wall of a bank on our walk through the P.A.T.H. A security guard came after me and told me no pictures "in the bank area".... I'd already snapped two!! haha - too bad for him!!

A piece of glass artwork outside of "Ki" a japanese restaurant in B.C.E. place

This is my favorite! I wanted something like this.... and this couple helped me out... without me even having to say a word!! I was about to snap and they happened to walk in and plant themselves there!! I don't think it could've worked out any better had I posistioned them myself!! :)

One of the metal pieces of artwork... the flames shot up from the bottom, they were beautiful!!

Ice skaters on the rink at Nathan Philips square....

City Hall...

It was quite chilly out - thank god for the little fires everywhere which kept us quite warm!! :) This here is my friend as we tried to warm up at one of the stations!!

The CN Tower lit up beautifully as we strolled down John St. towards the skywalk to get to Union Station so I could head back home after a wonderful night in the city....

I had received an e-mail early this morning from an old co-worker of mine about this event taking place at Nathan Philips square in Toronto!! As soon as I checked out the link she offered up, I knew I had to go as it would be an excellent opportunity for some quality photos!! Of course, I won't be surprised to find other people on here had been there photographing... it seems everyone had the same idea as me! I spotted many people in the area with beautiful cameras and tripods!

We of course ventured out of Nathan Philips square to dine at the Bier Market, but we made our way back up to the event before it ended at nine!! I'm very happy with how they turned out - and that would be why this entry has so many photos!! A cold night, but all those burning pots provided plenty of warmth.... and I would gladly do it again! What a wonderful evening!! If you are in the Toronto area and didn't make it this weekend, it's still happening next Friday and Saturday 6-9pm and I fully urge you to attend!! :)

focussed 5 and 6 are really nice. But I also really like 9. The colors are wonderful and of course the falling snow flakes add the extra special touch :)
