The Eclipse

I read somewhere that the really bright star on the left is Saturn.... anyone know for sure??

So tonight was a night of discovery... I am most definitley still learning with this camera..... and need a new lense! *sighs* This was the only one I was somewhat happy with! I didn't even catch it at it's full... it was getting harder to get a decent shot, plus it is FREEZING out and I was sick of doing the in and out thing just to get a decent shot!!

In other news... Brett called me on my way home from work and started the conversation with "Bad News". Said a storm is set to hit Boston around noon on Friday and last until Saturday morning. So I spent quite some time this evening on the phone with a really nice lady from Expedia who helped me solve my problem!! Looks like American Airlines has some thing where I can pay $25 and change my flight to the same day... NICE! I just have to wait until 12 hours before and I called American Airlines and the lady I spoke to told me the 9:40am flight was only half booked.... so I'll either be catching the 6:40am flight (preferable right now) or the 9:40am flight on Friday to get to Boston early! NICE!!... So i'll just nap until Brett gets home from work.... VERY excited now!!

edit* Right after the first post I went out to snap a couple of the moon completely in the shadow of the earth... figure they turned out alright....

Very nice! Congrats on getting an earlier flight - that's awesome! Now you can hunker down and snuggle the storm out together. :)

Yup 3 is a winner. I love that you captured the stars along with the moon..Night photography is tricky in general....capturing the mood properly is even harder..well I lalways seem to have trouble :( Very lucky re: your flights. Im sure you would have been devastated had you not been able to visit brett.
