Welcome To My Yard...

2008.05.16
This butterfly sits in one my Dad's newest gardens at one end of our yard....

Iris' - we have so many in my garden, and I think they will always remind me of my parents...

The retaining wall next to my pool....

It's almost that time... the pool has officially been opened, now the cleaning just needs to be complete and the weather a little warmer and we'll be able to get some use out of it...

Wind chime that hangs in one of the maples in our yard.....

A corner of a small planter that hangs on the wall next to the back door...

Welcome to my backyard! I figure there will be a TON of pictures in this area of my homestead over the next few months so I would begin the introduction now..... :)

Nothing too exciting, but with the day off today I decided to get outside for a bit and enjoy the fresh air. Got a bit of packing done - but a lot left to do, along with wrapping Brett's sisters graduation gift! I'm very excited that this time tomorrow I will be back in Boston with him! I hope everyone enjoys their weekends... it's OUR long weekend up in Canada so I will be back to update you probably by Tuesday (at the earliest).

Take care! :)

focussed The pool! Hooray!! I remember your entry about how you longed for the summer days relaxing by the pool.
I really love the single b&w image and how it contrasts so well against all the bright colors of the other shots.
So when is Brett moving over to you? ;)

ncshutterbug Great post, Ker! I especially love the first and last one - the color in the first one just pops.

aurian I enjoyed looking at this set, as cI'm nosy about other people's yards! :)

ambersunsets I really like this set. The first shot is so colorful. It just jumps off the page! The iris shot is so surreal. I like the way you shot a pair, maybe one for each of your parents. The 4th shot is such a teaser. Are those cloud reflections or pool water? Whichever it is a nicely composed shot.

I enjoyed my visit in your yard. Please have me over again soon:)
