Interesting find in Duty Free over the weekend. Mamu bought one of these, fully expecting bottled wine, at least two small ones, inside. Lo and behold! We were in for a surprise when we saw the wine packaged in air tight plastic with a spigot attached to it. The box itself has a perforated part near the edge where the spout is pulled out. Realized too late that we shouldn't have cut it out to keep the nice boxed wine look. Had to put clear tape over it otherwise the hole would be visible. Apparently, this is getting mixed reviews among oenophiles similar to when beer was first introduced in cans. It has its pros and cons. One pro I find interesting for me is in cooking. Since it keeps air out even after opening, it can be placed in the ref for up to 30 days. This means I can have wine on tap, available and on demand whenever I need just half cup or one cup for recipes I do. No need to buy one bottle of wine every single time. It helps to drink some too while cooking!
PS I have not tried the wine yet as of this post so can't say if it's good or not.
