From Hiroshima, we rode the train to the port and took a ferry to the island of Miyajima, known for its Torii Gate, one of three must see sites in Japan, according to our resident tour guides. =) We checked in a Ryokan, a traditional Japanese Inn with only one room, with tatami mats, which serves as the dining room during the day and is transformed into sleeping area at night with comfy sleeping mats. The highlight here is the onsen bath, public bath with other guests, and the fabulous meal of kaiseki cuisine both for dinner and breakfast.
