Most of this weekend wherever you turned in the UK there was a party going on for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. We chose to spend our Bank Holiday Monday at Cogenhoe's Picnic in the park with friends. As well as our picnics (which we all brought too much food) there were traditional sporting games such as egg and spoon races, sack races, three legged races and tug of war. As well as that there was a cake competition and a photography competition. I didn't enter as it had to be photos of the village and I haven't ever taken photos there, but my friend did win first place.
Lots of fun was had by all and then by the time we got home we managed to watch the last 2 hours of the Jubille concert on the beeb. I think Cogenhoe did have a beacon to light but we were getting cold and tired so didn't stay for it.

3 reminds me of a 6" cake I once made like a Shabbos table, complete with draped lace-edged cloth, napkins & cutlery, tiny balls of Gefilte fish with carrot slices, covered challohs, candles & wine. The "table" stood on crystal legs.
