Part of the Alaska Range obscured by mild haze across Cook Inlet. Anchorage extends below us to the edge of Cook Inlet. We're about 15 minutes from home here, but hundreds of miles from the Alaska Range.
|
Susitna, or Sleeping Lady, appears larger viewed from Anchorage than from Eagle River (shown May 2).
|
Another hill. Snow remains at this higher elevation, although we were only about 1600 feet above sea level.

I like the haziness of the Sleeping Lady in #2. Watch out for those bears... but, hey, you could smack them with that huuuuuge lens :)

Your looking like quiet the pro in #5!!!....I went to single out some shots but having looked back over this set I cant really pinpoint any stand outs. 1-4 are stunningly beautiful landscapes and the last two are a real treat ;) I always love to see the person behind the lens.

I can so relate to #5 and 6. I haven't really a clue how to use half he camera equipment I want. And #6 happens at our house quite a bit. My husband and I laugh and just roll down the hill until our feet can be together again.. Wonderful shots!! Can't wait to see what summer in Alaska looks like..Heck I can't wait to see what summer in Colorado looks like!!! HA!!!

Ha! Ha! Are you sure you're not in Wisconsin?? Just kidding--these shots are a marvel. You show the vastness and awe of Alaska.

#2 and #4 are great landscape shots Jan, and it's nice to see you in #5 and #6. You are not as "clueless" as you make out! When I win the lottery one of the first things I'll be doing is buying a ticket to Alaska! Meanwhile I'll be travelling to Alaska via your photos!
